Hi friends! I hope your day is off to a wonderful start! I’m enjoying every minute I can out here in California!
Today I want to talk about something that you all know is very near and dear to my heart: the importance of following your dreams. As most of you know, I graduated first with a degree in Broadcasting with plans and dreams to be a sports/sideline reporter. It wasn’t until after my news internship that I realized, hey, maybe this isn’t what I want to do after all. With a strong love for the field of nutrition but thoughts that this could only be my hobby and not my profession, I continued reading nutrition articles and books, diving deeper and deeper into my “hobby.” It wasn’t until I had the encouragement from my husband that I decided that really I could do whatever I wanted in my life, but it was up to me to make it happen. So I did just that. I returned to school, obtained a degree in Nutrition, and packed my bags for Jacksonville, Florida to complete an extensive dietetic internship at the Mayo Clinic. Because of these decisions, I now get to write, research, learn, explore and talk to you all about what I love the most, nutrition. I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
I truly believe that following your dreams is one of the key ingredients to happiness in life. We are now working earlier mornings and later nights, therefore, if we are stuck in a career that we hate, we spend the majority of our day, thus the majority of our life, unhappy. I knew I didn’t want to do that. I believe that if you are passionate about something you will succeed, regardless of external factors. If your career and your passion align, you’re not staring at the clock waiting for 5 o’clock to strike. If you love what you do, you don’t look at the clock, for me, even if I’m researching until 2am, simply because it’s not only a job, it’s my passion.
Today I want to share with you a friend of mine that’s doing the same, meet Katie.
After a semester in law school, Katie realized she wasn’t following her dreams. Instead of pushing through to what might be an unhappy life, she decided to leave law school and spend some time searching for her true passion. After a scary visit to her doctor and being diagnosed with high cholesterol at 19, Katie knew she needed to makes some changes in her life. Around that same time she married the love of her life, Josh, who also happen to be a former college athlete and personal trainer.
Josh taught Katie that exercise could be fun and that clean eating and training hard were a way of life.
Katie caught on fast.
Now, a NASM certified personal trainer herself, Katie is helping show others the same thing that Josh showed her. She has recently opened her own personal training company, KMB Fitness, LLC, and is following her dreams like no other!
Katie’s philosophy is simple,
As your trainer, my goal is for you to reach your optimal level of health from our time together. Additionally, I want fitness to be fun and something you look forward to. This doesn’t mean it won’t be challenging (hard IS fun!), but that you will come to love living a healthy lifestyle that includes daily exercise. My dad once told me, “If you don’t believe you are number one, no one else will either.” It is up to YOU to change your life, I am here to motivate you, to improve your strength, flexibility, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, body composition and overall health through creative and functional training techniques.
Katie is located in Canton, Georgia and offers all sorts of personal training options! She recently had a client tell her that in just 2 weeks of working together she already has more energy and confidence in how she looks.
From Katie,
That’s what this is about. Waking up every day excited to help others live up to their optimal ability regarding health and happiness, while educating them on how easy living a healthy lifestyle really is!
If your in the Canton, Woodstock, Alpharetta, Roswell, etc. area and are looking for someone to help you meet your fitness goals, Katie is the girl for you! Check her out!
I’m going to certainly continue to follow mine, and I pray that you do the same!
I hope you have an AWESOME weekend! We’re off to the Giants game tonight! I don’t ever want to leave!!
Good health!
