This morning Dustin and I went to a “Celebration” service at church. I thought it would be nice to go to break up the week, and it was… However, there was one thing that I overlooked in the bullitin, it was a “Senior Adult Celebration,” we were the youngest people there by 30 or so years . Dustin leaned over to me and said, “I guess you missed the senior part.” And I did, so once we realized that we weren’t supposed to be there, we decided to stay anyways, and worshiped with our elder.
One thing I’ve learned in life is that we are never put in a situation or a place by accident. God wanted us to be there. As we were greeting everyone at the beginning of the service all of the people said the same thing, “Young people! Welcome!” They seemed so excited to see us, like we made there day just by being there.
The message we walked away with was also just as refresing. We studied Matthew 5:5, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” We focused on the word meek and learned that in the Bible this term means to have strength under control, control being God. In todays fast paced society it seems like those who have the most control over the most people are the most successful. But according to the word, it’s not about having your own strength and control, but rather having strenth and power while being controlled.
So in translation, blessed are the people who show strength under the control of God, for they will recieve all of the gifts that God was to give.
We were very happy that we stayed.
And just to update you, the weather is finally back to beautiful, just the way I like it!
