‘Merica Feast! 4th of July Recipes

by Ashley on July 3, 2013

Hi friends. Happy Wednesday! Not too much to report on today. The July Yoga Challenge is rolling in full force – I even got the hub on his head yesterday! He’s totally in on the challenge and I love it.

Lots of good food to report on from yesterday, however.

Green Smoothies, Overnight Oats and Green Tea for breakfast (after checking out the hotel breakfast, I sure was happy I had my own goods).

Another Broken Egg Cafe for lunch. I was highly impressed by the menu – lots of “skinny”, gluten-free and vegetarian options. I went with the Black Bean Sliders topped with Jicama Slaw on gluten-free bread and a side salad. It was delicious. The hub had one of my sliders and loved it too.

After lunch out and a heavy post-workout snack late afternoon, my body was craving something light and unprocessed for dinner. I stopped by Fresh Market on my way back to the hotel and picked up lots of raw veggies, fruit, crackers, roasted red pepper hummus and a delicious bottle of wine for dinner + wayyyy to many dark chocolate covered almonds not pictured, oops! (And a rotisserie chicken for the hub too.)

Anyways, to help you celebrate the 4th of July in true healthy fashion, here are a few recipe links from previous posts that would complement any ‘Merica Feast!

I hope you enjoy some of those recipes as much as my family and I do! We’re off to walk around a little near by town, grab some lunch and hit the gym – then it’s baseball time for the hub! Have a great Hump Day!

Good health!

Thanks for the inspiration & educational post!!! Did a raw plant detox a few weeks ago. Not going to lie, by the 4 th day I thought I had the flu & the worst sore throat. Made it through it. Love the Garden of Life plant protein, taste amazing in my super green smoothies w/berries. Next time ur in town Dominique & I would love a nutritional consultation. Have a Wonderful 4th of July.
