DIY Coffee Station

by Ashley on April 24, 2013

If you’re anything like me, the day hasn’t begun until I’m at least one cup of coffee (or sometimes tea) down. It just routine: wake up, water, coffee, make breakfast. Repeat every day for the rest of my life. 😉 I’m not really one to get coffee while I’m out, I’d always rather have tea, say when we make a Starbucks stop, but something about home brewed coffee just starts my day.

My love for coffee actually inspired my latest DIY project. A few months ago, while surfing Pinterest, I saw this picture and decided I needed something like this in my life.

I tried to hunt down a small hutch for the area that I selected but had no such luck. I decided to work with what I had and used this corner piece that I was trying to figure out what to do with.

I gathered all things coffee, including my coffee carafe, jar of ground coffee, coffee maker, stevia, cinnamon and towel. I added the colored coffee cups to add a splash of color to the stand, poured my cinnamon in a pretty jar and wrapped it with hemp yarn, and hung a white and black towel over the wrack to bring everything together. (I found circular clip hooks at Target to hang my coffee mugs for easy removal.) I placed a vanilla scented candle at the bottom of the station but am still looking for something else to put there. Any ideas? Maybe a stack of coffee themed books? I don’t know!

I still like the one on the left a little better but I’m pleased with the turn out of mine! With a few more additions I think it will be just perfect.

What about you, are you a coffee lover too? Do you have any ideas for what should go at the bottom of my coffee station?

I hope you have a great Hump Day!

Good health!

I love coffee!! I just started liking it recently and I agree; a good morning starts with a good cup of joe☕

Hey there!
I was wondering where you found your furniture piece for your coffee corner! I’m looking for something exactly like it!
Thanks,
Ashkey

Hi Ashley! It was actually one of those type things that was just passed down to me during a move in college or something! I’m not even sure when it became mine?! Sorry I’m no help! When I first decided that I wanted to make a coffee station I was actually looking at thrift stores, pawn shops, GoodWill, etc., but since I couldn’t find anything, I decided to make shift with what I had and it turned out to be perfect! I’m sure if you keep your eyes out for long enough you will find the perfect piece! Good luck!!

LOVE what you did with this! I’m working on a coffee bar now and love your set up. For the bottom candle, I just pinned a cute idea that you might could use … https://mobile.twitter.com/Glitzy_Blonde/status/277112851129311232/photo/1 … it adds coffee beans around the candle, which would be so cute on a small tray/plate in your coffee bar! Also, where did you get the “E” … love that too! =)

I have been staring at this exact same corner shelf in my br for an hour. Think I will do this also, as I’m moving to another house soon. Maybe on the bottom, I’ll look for a largish, opaque, air tight jar for my actual coffee. I was thinking about either taking the 3rd(from the bottom) shelf off. It has screws on the side, and trying to make a backing of some sort. Maybe fabric over very thin board panels??? To change the look of it entirely..??..
